keymacro.exe is the script that runs the Quick Log. When executed, the Quick Log executes a macro that creates the tab-delimited data file for each individual event. The data file contains the Event ID, Event Time, Event Description, Start Time, End Time, Rate, Amount and the Comment of the event. (The Comment is optional.) The data file is saved to a location of your choice.
Required Information:
■ First, you need to use the settings from Quick Log's Custom Settings to find the location to which you wish to save the data file.
■ Second, you need to use Quick Log's Settings to set the amount of decimal places to be used in the calculated hourly rate of each event.
■ In addition, you need to set the start and end times of each event (this is the hour which is the beginning and ending of the time for the event) by specifying the hours and minutes of the starting and ending times.
■ After you have set the settings, click OK.
■ To run this macro, simply click on the Quick Log Script Icon.
■ The Event Log will be created and opened. The log's description can be modified, and the entries can be inserted, deleted or rearranged.
■ After all the entries have been entered, simply press the "Save" button to save the Log to your chosen location.
■ Note: The location for the data file and the hour rates will be configured by you at the time you set up your settings. To make changes to these settings, simply use the settings tab of Quick Log's Custom Settings.
■ In addition, to set the settings, the user should use the settings tab.
■ Finally, the settings should be saved by the user before running the macro. To set the settings, press the "Settings" button, and then press "Save" to save the settings.
■ You can also choose to export the data file to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Access database. This allows the data file to be manipulated, sorted or saved to any other database.
